Gia Lisa Krahne

Gia creates, teaches, and performs with relentless devotion and attention- bridging her yogic practices with her life as artist and teacher. She has been teaching piano, singing and acting for almost 20 years. Gia is also a prolific poet and theatre dancer, especially the repertoire of Bob Fosse. A company member of General Mischief Dance Theatre in NYC. She received her BA in psychology/English from NYU, honors in classical voice/piano from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, with further medical studies at Columbia University. Gia also spent some intermittent years working in neuroscience at NYU Medical Center. In 2010, she and Carlo Altomare re-established his The Alchemical Theatre (1981-). Together they lovingly run The Alchemical Theatre Laboratory, theatre venue and affordable creative studios in NYC. Much of Gia's ritual of study is devoted to healing, teaching meditation, yogic living, and Vedic studies, in which she finds a deep confluence with her theatrical vision. www.gialisakrahne.com
