Gianluca Famigli
Senior Competitions Manager in Zürich (CH)
I am a sports business professional with 10+ years of work experience in the football industry at both national and international level.
Although I am schooled in architecture, which has been a world teacher to me, my first love and heart are in sports. So I am pursuing my dream to inspire people and transform lives through the power of sports.
Architecture gave me a broad prospective of the world and of different people, throughout the world. So did the FIFA Master, which introduced me in the sports industry and expanded my management competencies, and the UEFA Diploma, which nurtured my leadership skills.
My international and cross-cultural outlook is enriched by the American Field Service programme in the USA and the Erasmus intensive programme dedicated to territorial empowerment and social sustainability.
Finally, my family has been very important in my growth as they have taught me the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding, cooperation and integrity, which has been fundamental to my success.
In light of the above, I am eager to undertake new challenges and to further enlarge my network.
“The secret of happiness (…) lay somewhere in that moment when the ball is in midair, when both boxers sense the approach of the bell, when the runners near the finish line and the crowd rises as one. (…) I wanted that, whatever that was, to be my life, my daily life. (…) So that morning in [2012] I told myself: let everyone else call your idea crazy (…) just keep going. Don't stop.”
