He leads the APAC market to develop Enel X Way footprint in prospective countries such as China, India, Australia, Malaysia, and Thailand, while also owning the responsibility to drive the company’s largest global customers. Since 2021, he sits on the Chargeway Board of Directors (a JV between Sterling and Wilson and Enel X Way) as an executive director.

In 2019 he was nominated Head of Global Sales at Enel X to establish international, clear-cut sales strategies and objectives, through the development of a high-performing direct and indirect sales force. Since 2019 he is the CEO of Enel X China

In 2014 Gianmaria joined Xerox, where he headed the Italian indirect sales operation, with a key focus on growing the market share and expanding the partner network. From 2014 to 2019 Gianmaria sat on ASSOIT board as a non-executive director.

Before joining Xerox, he held executive positions at a number of Fortune 500 companies, with successful track records for delivering high-impact results and managing financial and cultural turnarounds. He is recognized for his proven ability to create vision and strategy, lead multicultural teams, and execute global business strategies in developed and emerging economies.

Innovation has always been at the core of Gianmaria’s achievements: he developed and ran global programs on negotiation and sales enablement, created new business models to boost the company’s revenue, and started operations across the globe.

Gianmaria is a fellow and past Board Member (2006-2014 as EMEA Vice Chair) of the International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (now World Commerce and Contracting). A key contributor to the books "Contract and Commercial Management: The Operational Guide" and "Fundamentals of Contract and Commercial Management", he has lectured and presented at international summits in several different countries about negotiation and commercial leadership.
