Gianni Sarcone

Hi! I’m the co-founder of the Archimedes Lab Project, created in 1995 as an international network exploring the crossroads of art, science, mathematics, and imagination.

I’m an Op Art artist, author, and researcher in visual perception and creativity, with over 30 years of experience and more than three dozen books published worldwide. My work explores optical illusions, impossible shapes, visual paradoxes, and the fascinating gap between what we see and what is actually there.

I believe imagination, curiosity, and wonder are the engines of discovery. Through my art, books, and creative projects, I aim to surprise, challenge, and inspire people — proving that learning can be playful, unexpected, and far from the usual classroom routine.

When I’m not creating mind-bending visual experiences, I practice martial arts: I’m a Taekwondo black belt and a practitioner of Jujitsu. I also enjoy cooking for friends, because creativity doesn’t stop at the studio door — sometimes it ends up on the dinner table.
