Carol Fonde´grew up on the north shore of Long Island where her passion and respect for the natural land and seascape began her photographic career at the early age of seven. She majored in Photographic Illustration at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and received the Ford Foundation Fellowship for Visual Artists to attend Indiana University, where she received her M.F.A. in Photography.

To support her own work in photography, Carol built her career as a Master Color Printer based in New York, and soon became internationally recognized for her expertise in color perception and reproduction. She has been the personal printer for many celebrated photographers such as Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Christian Witkin, Hiro, Steven Kline and Bruce Davidson. She has a long standing reputation for her talent in teaching at Parsons, the New University for Design in NYC. Carol's fine art photographs of the sea and landscape have been shown in numerous galleries and museums. They have been exhibited in Ralph Lauren showrooms worldwide and are often used to support The Nature Conservancy.

Carol is currently working as a Fine Art Digital Printmaker based in both NYC and Portland, Maine where she moved her residence in 2012. She is teaching in the BFA Photography program at Parsons.
