The love for helping my neighbor has had a profound impact on my life. This, coupled with my love for learning, has afforded me numerous opportunities to learn new ways to serve and help people from all walks of life.
This past year I had the fortune to be able to spend my time as a Middle School coach and history teacher. I had the incredible opportunity to work with students in their endeavors to better themselves through education and friendly competition. Before this I was a personal financial advisor for JPMorgan Chase & Co. Part of my responsibilities included educating people on how to get out of debt, save for their goals, and be financially free. Before that I worked in New York City and Madrid for Betel International, a faith-based, non-profit organization. My responsibilities included working with young people who were struggling with various drug addictions who entered the program either voluntarily or at the behest of the courts and their parents. I helped these young people work on breaking free of their destructive habits and on changing the direction their life was headed. Prior to that, as a student of the University of North Texas, I co-founded one of the largest faith-based student organizations on campus which reached out to new students and helped them find a healthy and friendly community while at the same time leading a high school mentorship group.
I know it is imperative to never stop learning and look forward to all that the future holds. It is my hope that as I combine my passions for serving and learning with a strong work ethic that I will continue to find opportunities to serve and love my neighbor in a real and meaningful ways.
