‘Buffalo’ Giles is a cybernetic artist in the medium of generative AI. He uses several nom de plumes, notably klaypoll, Giles Field, Louise Childers and DAMSEL dee plus and his birth name David Giles Field.
Giles has an MA in philosophy, his first peer-reviewed article ‘Is Fun a Matter of Grammar?’ is free to read now in the open-access Journal of the Philosophy of Games.
Giles started public life as an anti-folk singer-songwriter. He was active from 2009 to 2012, releasing several independent albums in that time. He is best known for his collaboration with Courtney Barnett on the 2011 track ‘I Can’t Hear You, We’re Breaking Up’.
