I’m passionate about communicating things that interest and excite me, and love working with artists and cultural organisations to raise the profile of what they do.
I get stories in the news, publicise events, raise the profile of organisations, create a buzz online and make videos and other online content. I run PR, social media and smartphone video training workshops for arts and cultural organisations and individual artists. I also develop audiences, organise events, coordinate and produce engaging arts programmes.
Since setting up Gillian Taylor PR, I have worked with a range of cultural clients including the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Somerset Art Works, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Arts Health & Wellbeing, CEDA (Community Equality Disability Action), Dreadnought South West, and a number of individual artists.
With a background in communications for Arts Council England, I’ve worked on a variety of partnership projects with the BBC including Civilisations and Get Creative.
I’m an early technology adopter, training with BBC and RTÉ in mobile journalism and smartphone filmmaking, and with Amazon in smart speaker and voice technology.
