the jazz pianist grew up in Novosibirsk, Russia, currently lives in Helsinki, Finland. He was educated in the academy of music and is known for his expertise in the field of jazz as well as other music areas. His skills include saxophone, clarinet, piano as well as an orchestra conductor. He has performed with well-known musicians and toured the most famous jazz festivals around the world playing the saxophone, clarinet and piano. He has played for several years as sideman in the well-known Eurosib International Big Band of Novosibirsk. He was also nominated for the best pianist and the best musician of Novosibirsk, whose population is around 2 millions. Gimer, along with his band "Siberian Express" toured twice in the USA where he played with many famous musicians. Dave Brubeck was one of such. In 1991 Gimer got a standing ovation when playing before an audience of 5000 at the Russian River Jazz Festival in California and got outstanding reviews from American music critics.
