My favorite place in the world is standing on the deck of Kennicott Lodge and enjoying the view of Mt. Blackburn and the Root Glacier in the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. This is a place where the land is raw and still relatively difficult to get to...off the beaten track to many tourists. The red buildings of Kennicott are as fascinating as they are photogenic. This place holds a lot of memories for me and is simply breathtaking.
Alaska is the place I first spread my wings after graduating from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. The Chugach Mountains, Turnagain Arm and Kenai Peninsula were my backyard for 16 years, and Alaska is where my love for photography blossomed into a career in the photo stock business. I spent a few years working in photo labs, spending long hours in the darkroom, but the majority of my professional career has been working for Alaska Stock Images...a niche photo agency in Anchorage.
I have returned to my home state in the southwest corner of Idaho. My new adventures have given me the opportunity to rediscover the jewels of this state and the surrounding western states....Yellowstone, Tetons, Redwoods, Crater Lake, Three Sisters, Mt. St. Helens...for me the opportunities never end.
