Hello!

My name is Gina Jadelis, I am a sophomore at Marist College studying Public Relations with a dual minor in American Studies and Fashion Merchandising.

I am very active on campus as I am an orientation leader, peer mentor, board member of our Emerging Leaders program, an Ambassador and social media associate for the Odyssey. I am also a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma and Habitat for Humanity.

This semester I am lucky enough to work with an amazing company called Headbands of Hope. For every headband purchased, one is given to a given to a child with cancer. Since 2012, Headbands of Hope has donated to every children's hospital in the United States. In October 2015, Headbands of Hope launched The Hope Market. The market is filled with accessories that benefit a different childhood cancer charity every month. Headbands of Hope is not only a great organization but has taught me about competitive markets, sales and communication. Anyone who is interested in fashion, business or communications should definitely become a campus representative! Being a campus representative for Headbands of Hope has been so rewarding, so far I have gotten Headbands into four retail stores and have presented to many organizations throughout campus, trying to spread hope one headband at a time.

What's special about being an ambassador for Headbands of Hope? What have you learned most from the experience?

The opportunity to make a difference on a child's life, and to put a smile on their face is definitely the most special thing about being an ambassador for Headbands of Hope. Whether it is a headband donation or getting headbands into a store, I know that a kid is going to be happier because of our product.

The thing that I have learned the most through being an ambassador has definitely been sales and communication skills. I love talking to stores and hearing them get excited about headbands. Seeing headbands in a store that I contacted them has been such a rewarding feeling, because there is so much work that goes into getting it there.
