Gina Marie Thompson

Hi, I’m Gina Thompson. I’m a professional educator living in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. I recently completed my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, and while I am still passionate about education, I am transitioning out of traditional classroom teaching and looking for new career opportunities. I have many interests and passions, but at the heart of all of them is my desire to interact with and help people. I am most happy when I can share in the joy and happiness of others. I am inspired by the positive energy of the humans around me. Whatever my next profession may be, I want it to be one in which I am engaged in meaningful work and interacting with others to help them become happier, healthier humans.

My background in education and teaching has provided me countless opportunities and experiences to develop a strong skill set apt for many professions. Most notably, I am committed to working hard, I have a desire to problem-solve and am not intimidated by challenging opportunities. I welcome collaboration with others but am capable of independent work. As mentioned above, I excel in environments where I am able to work with and help others to achieve their goals and experience joy.

In my personal life, I am an avid outdoor adventurer. I love to hike, trail run, mountain bike, and back-country canoe. In the summer my husband, 6-year-old daughter, and I can often be found camping in various state and national parks around the country. I prefer the mountains of Central Pennsylvania over all others, and a piece of my heart resides in the Temagami Region of Northern Ontario.

Recently, I was elected as a member of the Bellefonte Borough Council. I am excited about this opportunity to serve my community in this capacity.

I am passionate about supporting the local community and arts culture. I write poetry and take photos of nature. Coffee fuels me.
