Gioia Eve Turano Solano

My name might have many different stories to it than the main story. My full name is Gioia Eve Turano Solano. Throughout my life I was told who I was through the opinion of others. Ever since I could remember I was different from other kids. The earliest stand out I can remember was that I couldn’t stay focused or read for the life of me. I was that kid that you called on and couldn’t pronounce half the words correctly. After countless hours of testing I was then told in the 3rd grade I had ADHD and had to work twice as hard than the other kids to get at the same level as them. I worked with my reading tutor twice a week for many years. In Spite of these difficulties I persevered. For instance, I placed in honors math and achieved above average grades in English throughout my highschool experience. In addition, I became the captain of my lacrosse team and a leader in our school Italian club. Through my journey of education I learned hardships often prepare people for success.
