Guido Giordano

I am an entrepreneur who loves entrepreneurship in all its forms. I've been the in charge of 3 different acceleration program in Italy and Canada. I am an expert in entrepreneurship and startups with a particular focus on accelerators and seed investment.

I became involved with accelerators during university when I was selected to be part of the funding team of LuissEnlabs.

Since then I've become obsessed with innovation and especially with how startups are reshaping the way in which innovation is created. I did my masters thesis on Accelerator Business Models and I researched and studied the different models of acceleration around the world. I left LuissEnlabs to move to Canada where I was responsible for creating and launching the Mercury Grove Accelerator program. My experience at Mercury Grove was invaluable because it exposed me to a new startup ecosystem and helped me to identify commonalities and differences among startups with different backgrounds. The accelerator program at Mercury Grove can be considered one of the most successful accelerator programs in the world, with an average growth of the companies, on their key metrics, of 14% per week over a 4 month period. We had our first exit in less than a year. After the first program the Mercury Grove Accelerator was put on hold due to poor deal flow and the fact that I was planning to return to Italy. Currently I manage the Telecom Italia corporate accelerator called Working Capital in Rome.
