SHIFT IN POSITION

Ever since the beginning of middle school in sixth grade, I was enrolled in band classes. I had no prior experience or interest, the only reason for me being there was because my older sister went through it as well, so it was obvious to my parents that I followed her path. Little did I know, it would be one of the greatest enjoyments I’ve had that has lasted through the end of high school.

Going into high school with three years of experience with my instrument called the euphonium, I was prepared for whatever came at me, except I had never heard of marching band. The punie little freshman that I was accompanied by all the seniors at the time who were the officers would lead us into becoming marchers. Day by day, practice by practice I learned that marching band was easily a hobby of mine. I loved being in front of the Friday night football crowd as they would cheer us on just as loud as if the team was playing. This feeling is like no other.

I took the next step of this hobby and became an officer who would guide the rising freshmen who I was once in their shoes to become great marchers. This shift of position happened very quickly, and I want nothing more than to realize and embark all the great memories when they take place.
