Gisele Magnin
USA
A graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, many of Gisèle's sapphic poems gained peer admiration after being discovered stuffed in the Lila D. Bunch Library books.
Her slippery fingers have been known to “drop” works of art in public venues, leading to many a serendipitous meeting with fans.
Known for innovation, hybrids and controversial literature—she often explores a multitude of genres (featuring lesbian erotica), while pressing boundaries with an air of dark comedy and tragedy. Or in some cases, Tragically Dark Comedy.
She is recognized for her signature black and leather wardrobe, a characteristic she ties to both her heroines and antagonists. The majority of her works feature characters struggling with or playing with imbalanced morality, similar to Oscar Wilde's Dorian Gray.
She is often found in Nashville's coffeehouses making dramatic faces at her computer screen, or devouring first and second wave gothic victorian literature.
Her favorite gothic books are: Horace Walpole's "The Castle of Otranto, Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's "Carmilla", and Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray".
Audiences adore her live readings, where she basks in the social awkwardness of reading erotica live.
