Gisela Martin
My name is Gisela Martin and I have recently finished a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. I’m 23 years old and I have a lot of experience in events organizing. I believe I’m the best candidate for the position of Events Coordinator at Blue Company because I’m responsible, organized, a perfectionist and a good communicator. So, currently I work for a magazine called ‘Rézo le mag’ and it’s my sole responsibility to organize different types of events for the magazine and its clients. My job involves planning and organizing every aspect of the event such as catering, music, sponsors, activities and I also host every event. Previously I worked in a secretarial position in a Low Firm and I was the first point of contact for the clients. I was also responsible for resolving queries and ensuring clients confidentiality. I also have experience working as a mentor where I was responsible for a large number of children with Down’s Syndrome which required a lot of planning, ensuring the children safety and attention to detail. So, attention to detail is important in events organization and I am extremely organized person. For example, with Rézo I’m involved at every step in the organization, I need to work independently and be responsible for organizing my workload. This requires me to use my own initiative and to work under pressure with deadlines. I must always deliver what the client wants. My experience in organizing events for teenagers when I was a mentor in both Spain and France has improved my planning skills and my confidence. When organizing events I have gained much experience in communicating and maintaining relationships with different types of people such as hotels manager for booking events, parents if there are any problems with the children, clients and very important people. This also can involve negotiation skills for prices, queries or complaints. Travelling in the USA and all over Europe, has improve my communication and negotiation skills. I also speak four languages, Spanish, French, English and Catalan, which makes it easier to organize events for UK and European clients. I’m also a perfectionist and always ensure my clients are happy and that the events are highly successful. To make sure of this, I always have a plan B. In conclusion, I believe I am the best candidate for this position due to my experience in events organization, communication skills and my amazing personality.
