I have always loved to interact with animals, after graduating from Veterinary Medicine in Peru, I travelled to Mexico to continue my training. One day when I was working in a Small Animal Hospital, I felt that there was something missing on my training; that is when I decided to learn more about animal behaviour and welfare. My interest on this topic took me from Edinburgh to Agassiz (Canada). Now, I am back in the UK closed to complete a PhD which will allow me to work improving the lives of animals under our care.

I have completed a MSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Edinburgh. I have clinical experience in dogs and cats, and my research interest are farm animal welfare and behaviour particularly cattle. I am also interested in Digital Story Telling that I hope I will integrate in my future career.

I think animals have cognitive abilities that are yet to be discovered and they will surprise us.
