Translation Technologist and Website Localization in Luxembourg
I am a Translation Technologist currently living and working in Luxembourg.
My Bachelor's and International Master's degrees in Translation, Information Society and Communication, Terminology, Website, Software and Videogames Localisation, together with other specialised courses, gave me the possibility to start my professional career in the ever-changing translation world in 2011.
My interest in Global Business and Marketing led me to obtain a certificate in Global Digital Marketing and Localisation (University of North Carolina Wilmington) for which I wrote a paper on 'Principal Issues in EU Website Localisation'.
The skills acquired during my studies, both in Italy, my home country, and abroad - Madrid, Seville and Limerick - allowed me to work for the Conference Management unit of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) for almost three years as CAT Tools Specialist (Localisation Engineer) and as part of the Innovation Projects collaborators. I also had the chance to spend some time at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) of the UN, where I was responsible for setting up a Translation Workflow Environment.
With the experience matured at the FAO and the IFAD I was ready to apply for an open competition organised by the European Union. In 2014 I was appointed Language Technologist (and Language Technology Administrator as of June 2019) at the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union, in Luxembourg, where I am currently employed.
Concerning my experience in translation, terminology, website & software localisation and subtitling, I have been providing such services for a series of companies (no profit)since 2011. I also contributed to several University translation and terminology projects. I regularly give talks and coordinate workshops on Translation Technologies, Terminology and Website Localisation with professors from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and, occasionally, to other European universities.
As a certified Terminology Manager I have experience in multilingual glossary creation and terminology projects coordination.
I am a certified TAUS Quality Manager.
My language pairs are EN/ES/FR > IT.
