Dr. Charles Gleek
Teacher in Delray Beach, Florida
I teach 16 to 18 year old students who take courses in IB Global Politics at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek, Florida. I also teach doctoral students who take courses in global educational reform and research methods in the Ross College of Education at Lynn University. I also work to develop curriculum and facilitate teacher training programs for the International Baccalaureate. My practice centers on engaging students in the study of world politics through progressive, constructivist pedagogies. Specifically, my teaching is rooted in the use of simulations and games as both concrete experiences and formative assessment tools which are used towards improving student learning outcomes. My research interests focus on understanding student engagement in simulations as well as the ways in which narrative feedback contributes to student performance on externally moderated assessments. My leadership experience lies in creating and sustaining academic and community programming, enhancing employee and student experiences by mentoring and coaching through narrative and inquiry-based processes, as well as data-driven, analytical project management across a range of school and organizational sectors.
