Growing up the magic of computers got me in the 70's with the Atari. Then at high school, every Gold Coast library had 1 Apple ][ computer - with tape deck then with 5.25 Floppy Drive. I must have went to Coolangatta library every day after school and Saturday mornings to get about an hours worth of computer time.

Although I went to TAFE to study computers course (It wasn't like the courses today - it was all C++ and databases) I ended up with a job at the National Australia Bank which looked after me for the next ten years. Through this time I kept my interest in computers and bagan using a 1200k modem to access Bulletin Boards. slowly getting a faster and faster modem - 2400K, 14400K then 56000K.

I had all the bells and whistles - CD Writer when I began compiling my own mp3 CD's. It's so much easier today. I opened a little part time computer shop in Tweed Heads to satisfy my needs in the late 1990's. My little store was opened for approx 3 years until the building was sold - and as I was subletting I had to go.

From there I decided to go back to study and do a Diploma in PC diagnosis and repair - again ALOT has changed since then.

When the Diploma was finished I started the PC repairs. Started from the garage initially and mobile also.

So after a few years of PC repair - I could see the writing on the wall for PC's with the introduction of the ipad, iphone, rise in laptop sales - desktops PCS's were a dying breed plus I could only fix at best 8 on site.

I had my own web page - other businesses kept asking me questions about web pages as they saw mine and wanted one, or wanted some sort of presence on the internet. I started managing a few sites, and then as that grew - I needed to grow with it.

Now we have our own servers in Sydney - we have a small team that have come onboard recently that I can delegate any server related issues to. A small team that I can delegate website builds and maintenance too if need be.

I still build web pages myself if they are small and or if time permits - but it is great that I can delegate to a team of like minded people with the same passion and enthusiasm for quality, efficiency to be able to provide an excellent service to businesses. Great service is something that we all deserve, and basically my web hosting journey started as I wasn't getting the service I deserved from other players in the market.
