Currently a Senior Project Manager for Aetna Inc. in Connecticut, Glenn Bair has served the company since 2000. In his present role, he conducts project management and strategy for the company’s mobile and provider Web applications. Responsible for cutting-edge technology programs, Mr. Bair strives to improve patient safety, as well as reduce medical costs. He also consults on the provider Web experience and strives to provide real-time access to financial and clinical transactions. Glenn Bair’s major accomplishments as Senior Project Manager include the supervision of Aetna’s provider Web applications project pipeline and another eight technical projects to support financial and clinical Web content. Mr. Bair's efforts contributed to saving medical costs through the co-management of a national electronic prescribing initiative. Prior to his current position, Glenn Bair was a Project Manager for Aetna, a position in which he significantly contributed to a project enhancing Aetna's primary customer service reference system. Glenn explored and supported solutions to improve reference materials used by more than 7,000 customer service healthcare and administrative staffers. Glenn's content management and information design expertise was a key asset to the success of Aetna's reference system enhancements. The system enhancements resulted in the transition from a proprietary client-based application to a Web-based reference tool that is actively used by the company's customer service centers today. Glenn Bair also served as the e-learning Project Manager for Aetna. In this role, he was a key figure in the creation of interactive educational programs for customer service, clinical support, claim administration, and plan sponsor and physician functions. Mr. Bair managed the implementation of a Web content management system, improved employee access to data involving clinical support, and promoted Aetna’s disease management program. In addition, Glenn Bair took charge of the technical implementation of a key primary care training initiative, geared at reducing the costs of treatment for depression. Initiated by Aetna’s CEO, the project targeted more than 50,000 primary care physicians. Before Glenn Bair joined Aetna, he gained invaluable experience as an independent consultant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Austin, Texas, where he provided a host of consulting services for companies involved in numerous industry sectors.
