Glenn Dames has served as a pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church for more than 25 years. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at the age of 12 and recognized his calling to preach the Gospel when he was just 15. He held his first ministry position as youth pastor at the St. James AME Church in Orange Park, Florida, then went on to serve in the same role at churches in Richmond, Virginia, and Washington, DC. In 2001, Glenn Dames returned to Florida to become senior pastor at the Mount Pisgah AME Church.

Subsequently named senior pastor at St. James AME Church in Titusville, Glenn Dames remained with this community for 10 years. Late in 2016, he relocated his ministry to take on the senior pastorship at Allen Temple AME in Tampa, Florida. He continues to uphold a career-long dedication to connecting church and community, toward which aim he has built relationships with many local schools, government offices, jails, and hospitals.

Glenn Dames has received such leadership recognitions as the 2015 4 Under 40 Award, which he accepted from leadership and talent development group LEAD Brevard. He has also received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for human and civil rights from the Florida Education Association and has earned mention in such publications as Space Coast Living Magazine, Democracy Now, and USA Today. A dedicated family man as well, the Rev. Dr. Dames is a loving husband and the father of two daughters and one son.
