Gloria Luk

Hi there! I am a student, designer, and artist currently living in Markham, Ontario. I enjoy graphic design and using Adobe Suite with hopes of working in the advertising industry after post-secondary school.

I previously studied at St. Augustine Catholic High School and now, I'm studying Creative Industries at Ryerson with specialization in Media Business and Graphic Communications Management. In these course modules, I learn about graphic design and Adobe Suite; specifically how to work with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I've learned how to work with brands and how to use different marketing schemes to effectively promote them depending on their current situation. Throughout the course of the school term, I have learned how to run a business and different kinds of business strategies to help get a company to run effectively.

Outside of school related projects, I participated in Junior Achievement -- a Youth business education program -- and managed to build up an activity book company named Unite, within a few months alongside fellow high school students. The activity book was targeted towards Generation Z students in Asian backgrounds and was in the Junior Achievement Trade Show. In the company. I worked as the Vice President of Marketing and gained part of my graphic design and leadership experience through working at Junior Achievement. The link to see the book is here.

Currently I'm looking to find any co-op job opportunities related to graphic design or advertising to gain more experience in these fields.
