Mrs. Gloria Nwafor hails from Obulozu Owere-Ezukala in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State, Nigeria.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
She is the fourth child and the last daughter of late Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Oguejiofor of Umuonyiba Ufuma in Orumba North Local Government Area, all in Anambra State of Nigeria.
She attended her Primary School at Community School Umuonyiba Ufuma between 1976-1982,
Senior School Certificate Examination between 1982-1988 at Ufuma High School,
Diploma in Social Development at Federal School of Social Work, Emene, Enugu State between 1994-1995.
Bachelor in Education (Adult Education/Economic) at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2004,
Post Graduate Diploma in Peace studies and Conflict Resolution at National Open University, Awka study centre, Abagana. Anambra state
HER CHALLENGES AS A PERSON WITH DISABILITY
For those who suffer one form of disability or another and hopes to make a mark in the society, her life history would serve as a testimony that there is ability in disability.
The journey to her current feat is tortuous and rough. She went through thick and thin, but ended as a success.
When she was three years old, She was struck by polio, one of the deadly diseases among children. In the cause of treating the illness, she was paralysed by an injection administered on her. From then, the story of her life changed.
However, her husband insisted on marrying her. Today, the marriage is blessed with four children, three boys and a girl all through normal delivery proving the thought of her husband’s relatives wrong.
She established an NGO called: Care for the physically challenged and Destitute Foundation and a Microfinance Institution (CAPCADF-MFI).
