Hi, I'm April! I am mother to three beautiful children, one of whom has Celiac Disease and Type 1 Diabetes. My daughter was diagnosed with Celiac in September, 2008, at the age of five and with Type 1 Diabetes in November, 2013, at the age of ten. Both diseases have brought about many many ups and downs, highs and lows. Through it all, my daughter has been so strong and brave - she is my inspiration!

When she was first diagnosed with Celiac Disease, my main goal, obviously, was to get her healthy. While there are many ways I could have done this, I decided that no five year old should have to give up kid-friendly favorites just to be healthy. That began my journey with food. I experimented with many different flour blends and mixes, and learned to make donuts, pizza, bread, and other baked goods. Over time, my method, and my cooking, transformed into foods that were still kid- and family-friendly, but focused more on whole foods and clean eating.
