Glyn Thomas

I am British and until recently I lived and worked in Kyiv, Ukraine, for almost 10 years. I was Vice President of Design and Construction at Amstar Group largely overseeing a new apartment tower in Kyiv called Skyline. Once complete it freed me up for new adventures: Anya and I built our own house - www.kievlife.co.uk - and we also own the Blues Bar in Kyiv - a great venue with live music every night.

During that time I also developed my B2B Publishing business and launched Game ON - a symposium for the Gaming Industry to showcase how to set up gambling properly in Ukraine. I still offer a professional consultancy to prospective casino owners.

We have three small dragons: Kira (sister to Katy); runabout twins (Astrid and David); ...and not forgetting the family 1961 Moskvitch 407.

In late 2017 I moved back to the UK as our children needed a British education. I was Head of Building Control at Premier Guarantee but have since moved on. I'm now settled in Liverpool as a Building Control Consultant and preparing for life as an Approved Inspector. I'm also an external examiner at UCEM.

Finally, to keep motivated I've joined Team 17 - The Michael Heppell dynamic improvement group - which is helping me focus on writing a book about life in Ukraine.
