Gena Mimozo

I am an arts advocate, warrior for cultural equity, and communityorganizer. As well as a filmmaker, production manager, theater artist,producer, and presenter. I have an enduringcommitment to community engagement through the arts. I startedworking with Staten Island Arts in 2010 as the organization’s Arts Education ProgramOfficer, eventually moving to Grants Administration in 2012. In 2017, they werepromoted to Deputy Director of the organization. Under their management, theStaten Island Arts Regrant program has grown to distribute more than $260,000in funding for artists – the largest in the organization’s history. Throughthe arts council, I participate in many citywide community engagementopportunities such as the Art Advisory Committee for NYC Department ofTransportation and the Percent for Art Committee for NYC Department of CulturalAffairs.

I have workedin the entertainment industry in multiple capacities (director, assistantdirector, stage manager, production coordinator, production assistant) and formany types of projects (theatre, concerts, festivals, television, commercials,film) throughout New York City.
