I work for an Irish e-learning company since 2006. I have extensive knowledge of Internet technologies. The scope of my interests ranges vary from New Media, Semantic Web , Interactive Design and I am a keen blogger on how new technology are changing the Internet. Currently I’m researching how social software can facilitate informal learning and collaboration. My professional role is the discovery of, solicitation of evaluations, research and development of core technologies used to enhance e-learning and Internet systems. Owing to a mixture of engineering, multimedia and business skills I can act as a strong conduit between teams. Facilitating collaboration and bridging gaps between teams with diverse skillets. Through my job I have been involved in a large number of funder projects with Enterprise Ireland the NDRC and a number of UK funding bodies. I started playing with computers from a young age and most of my design skills and knowledge are self taught. I moved in to digital media while doing my Multimedia Masters. On the course I learnt a range of skills and software including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Maya, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Flash, typography, future trends, new media, online marketing and advertising. In addition to these application skills I have increasingly strong knowledge in the networking, distributed systems, information architecture and instructional design domains.
