I would like to give a brief history about my background. I am from the republic of the Gambia which is a small country in West Africa. In Africa we have tribes, I am from the Wollof tribe. I am very proud of my heritage. I attended St. Augustine’s High school which is all boys’ high school. It is one of the best High school in the whole country in which every parent wants their children to attend. They excelled in all discipline both in academia and sports.
After high school, I matriculated into the University of the Gambia. I was admitted in the school of Education to pursue a degree in Education. I participated in student government as a social secretary. It is the duty of the social committee to organized events such as student party, fund raising and dry dance which is every Thursdays for student who are lonely or stress after studying for hours to go and relieve their stress by listen to music alone that is why is called a dry dance. I am have always loved to serve people at all times in the communities. After four years of rigorous academic and professional training, I graduated from the University of the Gambia and was posted as a qualified Teacher in the rural area where I taught for five years before furthering my education in the United States of America. I am very interested in the quest for more knowledge. I believed in the saying that a “fraction of an education is very dangerous” so that is the reason why I further my education and continue to strive for the greatest.
