Paul Godwin
I am the owner of PCG Consultants and my career as a marketing thinker and practitioner has primarily been spent in major UK agencies, working initially as an Account Handler and latterly as a Strategic Planner with blue chip clients in grocery, sports marketing, travel and financial services.
I have served as a Board Director of the IPM for the past 6 years. At the IPM I've special responsibilities for Insight and Education, am Course Leader on the Advanced Diploma in Strategic Thinking, and a Lecturer and Course Developer for the IPM Diploma since 1999. I have also judged marketing awards across Europe and lectured at the University of Westminster Business School.
Over the past two decades I've been working with cutting edge technologies and leading professionals in all areas of Direct Marketing and Digital and have a particularly strong data and insight driven philosophy.
If I'm good at anything in particular it's helping brand owners solve the problem of what best to say about themselves to customers and prospects, where to say it and when to say it. If I love doing anything as well as this it's coaching and training the next generation of marketers to do it even better than we are. Apart from that I'm happiest writing, writing or writing with just the occasional break for family, rugby, theatre and sleep.
