Lawrence Goldfarb
Lawrence "Larry" Goldfarb attended college at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., with the support of a National Merit Scholarship. Choosing to major in international economics, he worked as a legislative assistant for the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, authored a paper on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), and obtained a Bachelor of Arts. Larry Goldfarb went on to attend Georgetown University Law Center, interning at the global law firm of Mayer, Brown and Platt—now known as just Mayer Brown—and earning his Juris Doctor, graduating cum laude. He also wrote for The Georgetown Law Journal.
After completing law school, Lawrence Goldfarb accepted a position as a Tax Attorney at the international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. His clients, many of them Fortune 100 companies, depended on Larry Goldfarb for counsel on corporate sales, mergers, and divestitures. Subsequently, he did similar work as a Tax Analyst for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP & Affiliates, and then as a Partner and the Director of the Merger and Acquisition Group at Credit Suisse First Boston in San Francisco.
In his next position, Lawrence Goldfarb advised cutting-edge technology and life sciences companies on their financial dealings as President of GFC Capital Corp. in San Francisco. After that, he served Exergy, LLC, as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, directing the financing of geothermal and direct-fired power plants. Lawrence Goldfarb moved on to the job of Executive Vice President at Shoreline Pacific and then Managing Director of the hedge fund BayStar Capital, LP.
Today, Lawrence Goldfarb leads LRG Capital Group, LLC, a global banking and advisory firm that supports companies in the technology, real estate, hospitality, life sciences, and entertainment industries. As founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LRG Capital, Larry Goldfarb manages funds involving fixed income, distressed debt, and real estate strategies.
