Armando Golzio

Teacher and Casual Gardener in Torino, TO, Italia

Hire me

Hey there, I’m Armando. I studied at Scuola Normale, Pisa, Italy, and work as a teacher at Liceo classico Cavour in Torino, Italy, the same school I attended before the University.

I am a fan of Classics, Greece and Rome, Roman studies, editing of classical texts, history of classical scholarship (esp. the works of Karl Lachmann and Johan Nicolai Madvig) … and Camellias. I wrote about Early Latin Tragedy, Ennius (a paper at Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Rome) and Lucretius, two of the most prominent Latin poets, and (studies-free times) became an enthousiast of camellias and azaleas, too. Joined the Classical Association and the Society of Roman Studies.

My favourite travels are from Virgil to Dante, with a special link to a statement by Richard Bentley, the legendary Master of Trinity (ratio et res ipsa centum codicibus potiores sunt: Bentley's Horace, Cambridge 1711). There are places I remember, but I'll probably never find mine.
