I am an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in knee and hip replacement with interests in surgical navigation, instrumentation design, and OR task management and efficiency. In my former career, I was an aerospace ergonomics engineer. A high-volume surgeon, I developed a niche in partial knee replacements. I am the Director of the Maine Orthopaedic Review, the nation's oldest orthopaedic surgery board review, a position I've held since 2006. I am the Chairman of the Small Knee Implant Committee for ESSKA-EKA, which publishes extensively on current topics in knee replacement. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my adult children and their children. I love to travel, hike and go hard on my spin bike.
