Gonçalo Botelho de Sousa

Portugal

In 1997, I started working as an IT freelancer while studying Computer Sciences. In 1999, I joined Compuquali (later acquired by GFI) and developed skills as consultant and trainer in IT Infrastructures in both x86 and UNIX systems and architectures. I worked as a trainer for HP and Microsoft and developed training programs like HP Star in Portugal. In 2002 I started managing a team for project delivery in major partners of GFI Portugal while working as a Business Developer, responsible for company offer and market strategy. The following years I developed competences in Business Critical Systems, Virtualization, IT Security, Storage Solutions and Project Management, while attending many courses and certifications internationally. I was involved in major projects regarding System Migrations, Disaster Recovery, Data management solutions and Security. Meanwhile, I contributed and authored many articles regarding Data Management, Security and Virtualization technologies for major Portuguese specialized publications. After 2007, I started to manage strategic partnerships for GFI, like VMware and Microsoft, and also working in business development and project delivery for main customers, regardless the technical area. In 2011 I developed other business areas like Middleware, Database and BI and other partners like Oracle, Cisco, Symantec and EMC. Early 2013 I started formal training in Coaching and NLP and initiated a collaboration with ICL - Instituto de Coaching e Linguística. Late 2013 I started a new company, COMMIT TECHNOLOGIES, focused in four main areas: Cloud & Virtualization, ITSM, Apps & Portals Development and Mobile Device Management (MDM).In short, I love technology, I love working with people and my main focus is always to assure the delivery of what is agreed upon, using creativity and innovation, in order to achieve objectives and overcome obstacles. And have fun doing it!
