As an experienced archival administrator and public historian, I have dedicated my career to creatively connecting people with the past. Whether through historical records, government documents, research tools, innovative outreach programs, the strategic use of social media and technology, or mentoring the next generation of history professionals, my goal has always been to make history accessible to everyone.

I have served as Past President of the Society of Tennessee Archivists and currently work as the Director of Public Services for the Tennessee State Library & Archives where I lead a team that supports thousands of people each year—from journalists and legal professionals to genealogists, educators, and students—delivering knowledge that informs our shared story.

I’m also the author of John Sevier: Tennessee's First Hero, a book exploring Tennessee’s founding era through the lens of myth, memory, and identity. My current writing continues this work, uncovering the cultural and historical landscape of early Tennessee and its lasting influence.

When I’m not immersed in historical sources, you’ll often find me exploring Tennessee’s landscapes, drawing inspiration for new projects, and connecting with others who believe history shapes who we are. If you’re working at the crossroads of archives, engagement, and storytelling, I’d love to connect with you.
