Gordon Khoo
Since 1996, Gordon has played a significant role in the Performing Arts in Singapore. His first exposure of the arts began as family outings to musicals. His parents, both English teachers, were both regular patrons of the arts and it made sense that their son would carry on the tradition.
Gordon's experience in the area of festival management is testament to his passion and commitment to arts. At age 26, Gordon was appointed Program Manager of the inaugural Sonic Festival in 2001, the largest Christian music and arts festival in Singapore. In 2005 & 2006, Gordon was the producer of Baybeats Festival, Singapore's largest independent music festival, which saw audiences up to 74,000 people.
Gordon's experience goes beyond festival management. He is also an accomplished emcee with more than 10 years of experience, and has also taken it upon himself to pass on that special skill to several junior emcees.
Gordon is not a stranger to failure. After failing his PSLE, GCE 'O' Levels and Diploma in Engineering, Gordon has successfully overcome those dark moments. In 2005, he graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma of Mass Communication. He has recently graduated with a Bachelor in Arts Management from the renowned Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), making him the first in his family to receive University education.
