Gospel Okoro
Writer, Editor, and Public Speaker in Enugu State, Nigeria
Gospel Okoro is an award-winning writer, critic and researcher at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is an ex-associate critical editor of The Muse Journal, an alumnus of the Journalism for Liberty Fellowship, Africa, a member of the University of Nigeria Scholars Accelerator Community and University of Nigeria Essayists' Group. Currently, he is a fellow at Sprinng Writing Fellowship, the convener of the The Business of Writing quarterly trainings and the coach at The Business of Writing Academy (BOWA).
His short story, “Minutes of Memory” was shortlisted for the Tell! Africa Storyteller Award of the Year in 2021. He's also the recipient of the INKBLED AFRICA Under-30 Impact Award, the Damian Opata prize for critical writing and Leonard Ugwuanyi prize for flash fiction, as well as the recipient of the meritorious Student of the Year Award in his Department of English and Literary Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Asides his six published e-books, Gospel's works have appeared at The Muse, Alewahouse, UpwriteNG, Providus Bank Poetry Café, OneBlackBoyLikeThat, Fiery Scribe, The Nation's Newspaper, Sun News, and elsewhere.
Owing to his love for social impact, Gospel Okoro is also the the President/Founder of Young and Yielded transforming the minds of youths through activities like the Young and Yielded Conference, School of Transformation, outreaches and tours and so much more. This recently earned him a nomination on the list of Top 10 Young Leaders Award by the Impactfield Global Initiative. Gospel holds several leadership positions across Success Tonics International, UNEG, and his local church.
He's also graced multiple stages as a public speaker, striking the fire to become more into the bones of his listeners. In addition to volunteering, He loves God and books.
