Head Of Innovation in Greece
George Panou is a Senior IT & Business executive and entrepreneur. He leads Digital Innovation and Digital Transformation for more than 20 years for Financial Institutions-Banks, Large Enterprises and Public Sector in Greece & EMEA.
He is the Head of Innovation Center at Eurobank Greece being responsible for Digital Innovation, developing digital strategies and aligning business and technology.
Mr. Panou is also a Member of the Advisory Board for the for the 5G Infrastructure Public Private Partnership (5G PPP), an initiative between the European Commission and the European ICT industry. He is also a founding member and a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Blockchain Hub (HBH) and the 1st Certified Blockchain Professional (CBP) by IIB Council in Greece, providing thought leadership on Blockchain and emerging technologies.
He is guest Lecturer on ESADE Business School on the MSc in Business Analytics on the Fintech and Blockchain course and also a guest Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology at Frontiers in Fintech for the Master Students. He has served as a Judge at the BeFinnovative program for Fintechs for National Bank of Greece and as a Mentor to Fintechs & Startups in VISA Innovation Program Athens Greece.
His research focus is related to Digital Innovation Initiatives for enterprises, Digital Transformation, the development of new Digital Business Models, emerging Technologies like Blockchain and AI enabled Chat-bots (cognitive computing), the impact of Digital Platforms and Ecosystems to companies and the economy in extent.
George holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from ALBA Graduate Business School, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Specialization in Machine Learning and Mathematics from Imperial College London.
