Grace Bermingham Soprano
Irish soprano Grace Bermingham is a recent graduate of a Masters in Opera Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She studied with Janet Price and Ingrid Surgenor.
Having already completed a B.A. Degree at Maynooth University, Grace continued her studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she obtained a PG Dip under the tutelage of Virginia Kerr.
Grace’s professional experience includes both operatic and concert performances with Resurgam, Wide Open Opera, Lyric Opera , Friends of Welsh National Opera , Clonter Opera and Opera Theatre Company. Her solo concert work includes Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Magnificat, St. Matthew Passion, Fauré’s Requiem, Brahms Requiem, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart Requiem and Coronation Mass.
During her time at the RWCMD, Grace participated in masterclasses with John Fisher, Claron Mc Fadden , Susan Bullock and Elly Ameling for the Wigmore Hall Masterclass Series. Opera scene performances include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), First Lady (Magic Flute), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Gretel (Hansel & Gretel) and La Fortuna (L'incoronazione di Poppea) for the RWCMD and Welsh National Youth Opera. Grace also performed in several public performances including showcases and concerts. This year Grace performed the role of Cis (Albert Herring) and Owl (The Cunning Little Vixen). During her studies she was kindly supported by the Iris O'Brien Foundation, The Arts Council of Ireland and The RWCMD Leverhulme Trust.
Grace is an alumna of Opera Theatre Company's Young Associate Artist programme and has recently been named as a Concordia Foundation Artist.
