School Administrator, Public Health Professional, and Global Youth Ambassador in Nigeria
Grace Anuforo is a School Administrator, Peace Fellow, Public Health Professional and Girls' Rights Activist
With a focus on Gender Equality and Quality Education (Goals 5 & 4 respectively), she founded a registered youth-led not for profit organization that caters to girls and young women.
Her organization (www.thegraciellainitiative.com) has a core team of 72 young people across 8 African countries. Towards reducing child marriage among girls in the North, her organization sponsors out-of-school girls back to school, ensuring they complete their basic education.
They also leverage on partnerships to provide employment opportunities for adolescent girls and young women.
To accomplish their objectives, they work with major stakeholders, on the goals 1,2, 4, 5, 8 and 17.
Grace is a member of the Commonwealth Youth Gender Equality Network and recently got selected as a Global Youth Ambassador of TheirWorld, as well as a Literacy Ambassador at World Literacy Foundation.
Grace's work on the SDGs in schools as a school administrator won her school a membership with the Global Schools Program. She recently did an SDGs in schools pitch at the Fix Politics conference which held in Victoria Island, Lagos in February 2020 and was organized by Nigeria's former minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili.
She got selected for the Camp2030, an SDGs program for young people to hold in New York city in September 2020.
She also recently got selected by Rotary International to begin her Peace Fellowship programme in Uganda by 2021.
She works with GirlzFTW, an international organisation connecting girls with female mentors all over the world as a Girls Mentor.
Grace is also a serial volunteer as well as a Life Planning and Youth Ambassador. Most importantly, she is open to opportunities related to women and children.
Grace bags a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) in Environmental Health and a Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Physiology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria's premier university.
She also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and is currently doing her PhD programme in Public Health at Walden University, with a major in Health Promotion and Education.
