Student, Writer, and Filmmaker in Austin, Texas
Hi there! My name is Grace Vitale, and I’m a freshman radio-television-film major at the University of Texas at Austin, having always had an inherent passion for movies, TV shows, and literature. Born and raised in Austin, I moved to Denver, Colorado when I was 8. It was there that I got to spend my childhood skiing all the time and making great friends at a school I loved before moving back to Texas. Aside from the fact that I’m from Austin, my decision to go to UT for college was influenced by the city's vibrant, immersive, and eclectic film scene, with the films encompassing a wide range of genres. It also doesn’t hurt to have potential access to leaders in filmmaking. Within the industry, I hope to pursue directing and screenwriting as a career because I want to tell stories about nuanced societal topics that portray the raw human emotion of the characters. As an RTF major, I hope to gain access to the internships, academics, organizations, comprehensive level of study, and other hands-on experience necessary to do what I love most after college. When I’m not obsessing over all things film-related, I enjoy spending my time writing, people-watching, hanging out with my friends and pets, and exploring different genres of music.
