Graeme Shimmin

Manchester, Uk.

I was born in Manchester, and studied Physics at Durham University.

My successful consultancy career enabled me to retire at 35 to an island off Donegal and start writing. I then returned to Manchester and completed an MA in Creative Writing.

My novel A Kill in the Morning - inspired by my love of classic spy fiction - was shortlisted for the Terry Pratchett Award in 2013, leading to its publication by Transworld in June 2014.

Reviews of A Kill in the Morning were overwhelmingly positive. Sci-fi legend Stephen Baxter called it 'a terrific debut' and SFX magazine described it as 'crisp and enjoyable'.
