I am a software developer, specializing in C/C++ system programming. My professional interests include security and client-server networking. I also write perl and python as well as html/css/javascript. I work for SAP Canada (formerly Sybase), and I am part of the core engine team for SAP SQL Anywhere. I am also the webmaster for sqlanywhere-forum.sap.com, a question-and-answer site about SQL Anywhere.

I graduated with a B.Math in computer science from the University of Waterloo in 1992 and an M.Sc. in computer science from the University of Western Ontario in 1994. I have worked at IBM, Microsoft, and Corel, and I have been at SAP since 1997.

I am an active blogger. I have had my personal blog since 2005, where I write about science, sports, technology, music, movies, and whatever else I feel like. I am also a big fan of indoor lacrosse, and write about the National Lacrosse League on both nllchatter.com and insidelacrosse.com.
