Being born in south Georgia, I was raised in a perfect climate for golf year-round. I first began playing golf in 7th grade, and I haven’t looked back. Golf is one of the biggest hobbies I have among other things a boy born and raised in the south enjoys. I find golf to be the perfect metaphor for life. You have immense highs and tremendous lows all in the same round. This is what drives my interest in golf. There is always some way to improve your game to make it the best it could possibly be. I have yet to meet a true golf fan who says, “my swing is good enough.” There is an eloquent art form in the personal drive of a golfer on the path to perfection. Perfection is unattainable of course; however, the road to perfection is the enjoyment of golf. The first perfect golf shot after tweaking your swing in some way is a feeling that is rarely duplicated. I find a lot of personal meaning in this game because I carry its lessons into my personal and professional life. The road to perfection in all things is what I strive for. I want to never be complacent but always strive and reach for self-betterment. I owe the game of golf a huge gratitude for my outlook on life.
