Grant is passionate about the application of design thinking and persuasive technology to create a thriving social innovations.

Grant recently co-founded Nexergy, a startup enabling communities to thrive with clean energy. Nexergy is building a local energy trading and control platform that provides a fairer return to owners of solar and battery assets, while also reducing energy costs for their local community.

He is a board member of Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise, the peak economic development organisation for the area.

Previously, Grant worked at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, building the Indigenous Digital Excellence unit, which aimed to inspire the next generation of Indigenous digital makers. Grant is also principal at innovation consultancy Zumio, where he led projects for clients such as the Cancer Institute NSW, the Investa Sustainability Institute, the Inspire Foundation and the University of Technology Sydney, among others. Grant is also a tutor for University of Western Sydney's Design school, supporting students in the application of design research methods to social innovation projects.

Prior to founding Zumio, Grant worked at sustainable design agency Digital Eskimo, and conservation organisation WWF-Australia, where he was part of the team behind the inaugural Earth Hour.

He is a mad-keen cyclist, and can often be found hurtling down mountain bike trails in near his home in Katoomba. He is also a musician, singer and songwriter.
