Aaron Gray

Belleville, ON

My name is Aaron and I have been a technology teacher for the past 8 years. My teaching assignment is Manufacturing and Construction Technology.

Before teaching I worked as a Tool and Die Maker building and designing machines, fixtures and tooling. I found this career greatly rewarding and challenging but wanted a little more. I went back to school for Mechnical Engineering and shortly after completing the first year I gave teaching a try as a favour to a board that had no qualified manufacturing teachers available. Needless to say I never looked back, I enrolled in the Queens summer internship program and continued teaching at the same school until present.

In 2010 I took a leave and travelled Australia for a year with my partner. This was the first time I had lived abroad and was the most incredible experience to date. It created a love for travelling for me and since have travelled to France and Spain with students for March break trips. During my stay in Australia my partner was taking her education certification so I kept myself busy by achieving a certification in Personal Training and a couple diving certifications. I also spent lots of time taking pictures. The background image seen here is a photo I took at sunset in a surf town known as Burleigh Head.
