Michelle Martin

Started out my career as a Primary school teacher near Liverpool, England. I have always be interested in the environment and how we can reduce waste and what we can do to save different environments in the world.

I love gardening and this was always my stress relief at weekends. Growing fruits and vegetables enabled me to forget work for a while.

I also love cooking and inventing new ways to use fresh produce.

Moved to Spain 5 years ago in order to improve my Spanish. 2 years later we bought a house with land and began living our dream of being self sufficient in as many ways as possible.

The house is completely off grid and when it was purchased it needed renovating and electricity installing.

3 years down the line we are producing most of our own fruit and vegetables, have chickens and ducks for meat and eggs, have raised turkeys and rabbits for meat and we are now looking to getting goats for milk and meat.

Our way of life is to reuse everything we can, we try not to buy new, second hand is always best.

Our work life is never boring. We always have something to do. We have made lots of Spanish friends that love to tell us how to do things and we love to exchange culture and foods.
