Greensista

Early this year, I returned to Canberra after almost three years overseas. Things have changed here since I was gone, not least that my sister (Redsista) has had a baby girl. For the moment, I’m looking at life with an outsiders perspective, and alarmed that the Australian lifestyle I'm returning to is in conflict with my desire to tread lightly on the environment. This blog is to record the dilemmas I’m preoccupied with and talking through with Redsista. She brings a sense of humor to the situation, and I relish her reminders that agonizing over what goes in which bin is a very first world dilemma.

In brief, I’ve had a career working in environmental sustainability, most recently working on the Clean Development Mechanism, a carbon trading system that was created as part of the Kyoto Protocol. Together with K, with no plans for children. I keep fit through multi sport activities. I like cats and dislike cars.
