Greg Arde

Greg Ardé is a journalist based in Durban, South Africa.

Greg is the editor of KZN LIFE magazine, which appears monthly in the Sunday Times.

He was previously deputy editor of the Sunday Tribune, Property Editor of the same publication and Business Editor of The Mercury. Prior to that he was political reporter on the Sunday Tribune and the Daily News and the KwaZulu-Natal correspondent for the South African Press Association.

Greg has a National Diploma in Journalism from the erstwhile Technikon Natal. As part of that diploma he was required to serve a year’s internship and worked at the Daily Dispatch in East London (1990). After his studies he returned to the Dispatch and ran the newspaper’s Umtata bureau.

In the scope of Greg’s career he has reported extensively on political violence. He wrote a weekly satirical column in the Sunday Tribune, The Mercury and The Times for 15 years, much of it dedicated to ribbing the mayor of Durban. Greg’s involvement in politics, cities and development nurtured an interest in business and entrepreneurs.

He has run three supplements in that vein, including The Mercury’s HighRoad & Network and Tribune Business.

In the course of his 25-year career in journalism, Greg has been involved in a number of freelance projects, filed for radio and written for variety of foreign publications.
